Fisher-Scott Pines National Natural Landmark (VT)

September 24, 2022

These large-diameter white pines are preserved in the memory of two families who loved these particular woods. The area was gifted to the state of Vermont by the Fisher family in 1975.

There are no maintained trails, but there are well-defined herd paths for those who wish to wander amongst the trees.

Note the access point is off Red Mountain Road, not Fisher Road, near Arlington.

I visited on a beautiful fall morning on the way to visit my oldest daughter at college in upstate NY. It’s always important for me to break up long drives due to my past DVTs. I’m glad there are a ton of my LifeQuest sites between home and her college. And as always, every time I get out to visit something it makes me yearn for the day when I can do this full-time.
