My younger daughter tested positive for COVID last week (she is now fine), and I’d shared a car ride with her for hours the day before she got tested, so I isolated out of an abundance of caution for others until this morning. I never tested positive, thank goodness. Note we have all had all the vaccines and boosters.
It felt lovely getting back out again. I do have to be careful now as to where I go and when though, as I’ve exhausted all sites within a two hour radius of my NH home. To save wear and tear on my car, not to mention gas money, I must now ration my trips to once a week until a) my elderly cat dies and I can spend multiple days on the road and b) I can do this full-time.
This part of the Silvio O Conte NWR is tucked beneath a network of other area trails, and parking is not obvious. I found the trails through a combination of the NWR site, my Gaia app, and general directional skills. Total mileage was between four and five miles. It’s a pleasant walk in beautiful woods. Nothing too strenuous. The trails within the refuge are: Bennett Road Trail, parts of Dine, and Beaver Pond Loop.
