July 18, 2023. Last stop for the day. This easy half-mile Great Barrington walk by the river provided me with all the shade and breeze I needed after my hot and humid Hopper amble. It also provided a new home for the spider that crawled out of my hair an hour and a half after my Greylock bushwhack.
The river ran fast and furious, which was no surprise after all the recent rain.
This path is well-used, and I got a few odd looks as I walked along. I was feeling drained from my day and didn’t really care that my hair was now a mess and that I probably had dead bugs stuck on my face.
Anyway, this was a nice, easy, and scenic way to end my day of adventures. Learning about W.E.B. Du Bois’ connection to Great Barrington and the Housatonic was an informative bonus.
