Back to the States! I was excited to return. I do love my country, flawed as it may be. There’s a reason I constructed my LifeQuest the way that I did.
I crossed the border and immediately found a gas station. Canada was less expensive than I thought it would be…except for gas prices. Gas costs 40-50% more in Canada than it does in the USA. Ouch.
I filled up, hit the nearby dollar store to restock on vitamins, and headed to my next destination.
According to the New England Stereotype Map, I’ll be spending the next three weeks in uncivilized territory where people eat each other. Thankfully there was a Whoopie Pie Festival going on when I arrived, so the Mainefolk’s cannabalistic tendencies are currently suppressed by all the readily available sugar.
I’ll be in the deep woods for a while. It’s nice to see fireflies again and hear the rubber band frogs. Not so nice to deal with the green/deer flies during the day.
