Took a quick road trip to Cooperstown, NY on May 24, 2025 and saw Otsego Lake. Didn’t stay long since it was a holiday weekend and I am allergic to crowds.
From the NPS: “The Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail follows the historic [exploratory] route taken by John Smith and his crew in the summer of 1608. Since this route was sailed by Smith, the trail is water-based, following the Chesapeake’s coastlines and tributaries…The Otsego Lake in Cooperstown, New York is the origin of the Susquehanna River and the Chesapeake Trail’s northernmost point.”
