Adams National Historical Park

October 15, 2022

Adams NHP is all about John, John Q, and Abigail, as one would expect. The birthplaces and final resting area of the two presidents, as well as the homes where generations of Adams and Quincys lived, can be found here in Quincy, MA. Note the church where the presidents are entombed is not actually part of the NPS, so if you visit, make sure you leave a donation to help with the operating expenses.

I did not take a tour of the homes. I did a tour of the church though, which I enjoyed, and I walked the Presidential National Recreation Trail, which lacks full signage and is basically just large stickers here and there marking sidewalks that lead to the homes.

Those flags on the tombs of the presidents are the same ones that were flown while the men were in office.

I’m glad to be nearly done with the Boston area LQ goals. I still have the rest of the Boston Islands, which I’ll get to over the course of this next year. Apart from that, I’m done, and I look forward to a change of scenery.
