Fin and Silver Bullet, two of my AT 2025 hiker buddies, live in the Carolinas. They each drove to northeastern TN to hang out and hike with me for four days. It was so good to see them again!
The first two days (March 7 and 8) were spent at Bays Mountain State Park and Warrior’s Path State Park near Kingsport, TN. Each has a trail system that is designated as “a” National Recreation Trail. We hiked a variety of trails within each park, creating long loop hikes. Trails were wooded with a decent amount of elevation gain and descent depending on the specific trail.
