Virtual hike along with my commentary on YouTube, Trish Ellis Travels.
I took my sweet time on this 25.6-mile segment and spread it out over four days. Most hikers probably do it in three days: hike into Antigo, take a zero, then hike to the Kettlebowl segment. I felt kind of funky and tired, so I hiked into Antigo, then did three nearo days. April 13-16, 2025.
I am shuttling myself with a bike, so I am also biking on my hiking days (unless I am hiking with someone or getting a car spot). So maybe it wasn’t so bad that I took four days on this stretch…or maybe I was just slacking, who knows. (Edit – I actually used the bike o two of the four days, did an out-and-back on one of the nearos, and hitchhiked on another nearo to get back to my hotel).
Country roads with some farm animals. The small Ice Override segment was pretty.
Antigo has everything a hiker could want. Lots of restaurants/fast food, a low-cost grocery store, Walmart, a sports shop, Dollar Tree, multiple hair cut places, and a lot more. At least two or three motels.
