Feeder Canal Towpath National Recreation Trail (NY)

October 11, 2023

Had another night of sliding down my tent on the slanted ground, but managed to get some decent sleep anyway. Woke up and headed to Queensbury.

The start of the trail is by a scenic dam. Right off the bat, beauty abounds. I loved this trail. It follows the towpath to Mullen Park in Fort Edward along the historic Feeder Canal, which is, according to the NRT website, one of the last surviving sections of the original 1820s canal system. The trail also goes into the town of Glen Falls on a detour, so I was able to pause for a bit and enjoy a cider donut from a convenience store. At the end of the nine-ish miles I was once again able to get an Uber back to my car, so no need to double back for an eighteen-mile day.

I headed back to my campsite afterward and packed up, leaving a day early.

No more LifeQuest trips for me until perhaps November as I have things that need taking care of at home.
