I also did the westernmost three-ish miles of Parrish Hill Segment (that’s in a different post). 17 miles total, 2700-ish feet of elevation gain.
Lots of ups and downs, including a climb up the highest spot on the Ice Age Trail, Lookout Mountain. The photos and videos sum up the day.
Something unique happened while I was taking a break near Chain Lake. A beaver came out of the lake, waddled through the brush, got on the trail next to me, and waddled away down the trail. I thought I got most of it on video, but nope. I wasn’t recording when I believed that I was. Damn it. It was super cool.
At the end of the day, I felt like I had done Owls Head (NH). Same kind of distance and elevation gain, it’s just that the elevation gain was in constant small ups and downs instead of one giant up.
