Ice Age Trail, Jerry Lake segment. 15.2 miles.

May 4, 2025.

Had the pleasure of hiking with Jill Hk today. We discussed all kinds of things, and the miles went quickly. The trail was a nice walk in the woods and a lot drier than expected…except for the last 1.3 miles (toward County Road E) when it turned into constant deep-mud-rotting-logs-swamp. I got to experience some deep mud up close and personal when my foot punched through a log and my balance failed. Into the muck I went. Kind of wish Jill had gotten a photo of that. 😀

Hiking with Jill was a true pleasure, and I hope she joins me on another segment or two or three when I return next year. Discovered we saw the same production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Donny Osmond at the Chicago Theater in the early 1990s. And now I have Any Dream Will Do stuck in my head. ♥️
