John James Audubon National Recreation Trail.

New Orleans, LA

December 22, 2023

While in NOLA for the holidays, I took some time to walk the paved just-under-two-miles loop at Audubon Park. This is an easy and flat stroll within a popular avian migratory spot, and it’s a streetcar ride away from the French Quarter.

I enjoyed seeing black-bellied ducks, white ibis, and oak trees. Loved how the ducks managed to balance on low and narrow branches.

It was my birthday on the 22nd. I am now 53. I was happy spending the day doing what I love most, exploring an area new-to-me and observing beautiful creatures.
