Long Path through Mine Kill State Park. New York

April 12, 2026.

New York’s Long Path, not to be confused with Vermont’s Long Trail, is 357 miles and stretches between George Washington Bridge in NYC and the Adirondack Mountains. Parts of it are designated as their own National Recreation Trails, including this 4-ish mile section within Schoharie County’s Mine Kill State Park. The trek is mostly woods walking by Mine Kill Creek with lovely views of falls.

I truly love this quest I am on. The states feel so different from one another. I felt so happy driving along country roads through the Catskills to get to this state park today. Looking forward to exploring a different area tomorrow.
