After waving at Franklin Bog, I drove to the Hopkins Covered Bridge near East Berkshire and climbed down the mud embankment to stick my hand in the Trout River. I then tried to find a spot to stick my hand in the Missisquoi, but though I spent quite a while driving all around looking for a public point of entry at both sections of the Missisquoi that carry the W&S designation, I couldn’t find a safe place. I did find a place to park in one area, and I was able to get close to the water, but still not close enough. I risked falling a decent distance, and I didn’t want to be one of those poor souls who ends up with a negative outcome because they just had to have the right photo. Therefore I contented myself with taking a picture at that spot, and my hand remained dry.
