Had an easy day hiking two short National Recreation Trails and seeing the Cedar Glades National Natural Landmark in Cedars of Lebanon State Park.
Three Hickories Natural Trail is within the Cook Day Use area north of J Percy Priest Reservoir near Hermitage. Most of the area is closed for winter, but I was able to access the trail via an unmarked path not far from the road leading to the boat ramp. Three Hickories a nice 1.6-mile loop leading through woods with occasional views of the reservoir, but the trail currently needs brushing. I imagine ticks are a problem in spring/summer. There is a fenced off area preventing folks from falling into what looks like a massive sinkhole (photo 4).

Anderson Road Fitness Trail is south of the reservoir in eastern Nashville. It’s a one mile paved path with access points to the water. Note the parking area is closed on weekends during winter.

Cedar Glades National Natural Landmark can be found within the aptly named Cedars of Lebanon State Park in Lebanon. Hiking the short southern part of the Hidden Springs Trail, then taking the second horse trail on your left, will bring you right into part of the glades. One could also just walk a couple tenths of a mile down Cedar Forest Road from the trail parking lot.
