Inwood Hill Park Orange Trail

Manhattan, NYC. April 28, 2026.

I have a couple days before I head to Central America, and I am still in New York, so I figured I’d take a quick trip into the city to knock off some of my Manhattan goals. First up was the Orange Trail in Inwood Hill Park.

Inwood Hill Park is located at the very northwestern tip of Manhattan and can be reached by the A train (Dyckman Street or Inwood/207th). It remains a mostly untouched original bit of woods and marsh. All of Manhattan’s history kind of happened around it, and today there are several paths throughout the forests. The Orange Trail (a National Recreation Trail) is a 1.43-mile loop and takes the wanderer by glacial potholes, caves, and towering rocks/little cliffs. There’s a lovely viewpoint of the Hudson River and the Palisades. I enjoyed my stroll and saw a lot of others enjoying jogs and ambles.

Hopped back on the subway afterward and went down to Stonewall. Will post about that tomorrow.
